WHO WE ARE

Cococel — The Next-Generation LATAM Remittance Platform

Cococel is a multi-service fintech platform built for the Latin American diaspora in the United States. We combine mobile top-ups, eSIMs, international calling, gift cards, and remittances into a single app — creating a sticky ecosystem where users transact repeatedly.

Founded by the team behind CubaTel, which processed over $250M in transactions and served 1.5M+ users across 9 years of operations.

Colombia$9.7B+12.4%
Honduras$9.1B+6.8%

Unlike pure-play remittance apps, Cococel acquires users through low-cost telecom products (top-ups, eSIMs, calling) and converts them into high-value remittance senders. Our CAC is 70% lower than competitors because users come for connectivity and stay for financial services.

THE PARTNERSHIP

What We Need from FFB Bank

A straightforward banking relationship to support our remittance processing operations.

Sponsor Bank for Merchant Account

FFB serves as the acquiring/sponsor bank for our merchant account through Goat Payments, enabling us to accept card and ACH payments from remittance senders.

Business Checking Account

An operational checking account to receive processed funds and manage disbursements to our remittance partner (UniTeller) for LATAM payouts.

Transaction Flow

1Customer pays via app
2Goad processes (FFB sponsor)
3Funds settle to FFB account
4Cococel pre-funds UniTeller
5UniTeller disburses in LATAM
WHAT FFB WILL GAIN

A Growing, Compliance-Ready Deposit Relationship

This partnership will deliver exactly what FFB needs: stable, growing, non-interest-bearing deposits from a regulated fintech partner.

Growing Non-Interest-Bearing Deposits

Remittance processing will generate consistent daily deposits. As volume scales from ~$2M to ~$8M+ monthly, FFB's deposit base will grow proportionally — at zero cost of funds.

$2M–$8M

Projected monthly deposit volume (Year 1–3)

Processing Volume Revenue

As sponsor bank, FFB will earn basis points on every transaction processed through Goat Payments. Higher volume = higher fee income with no additional operational cost.

5K–23K

Projected monthly transactions (Year 1–3)

Long-Term Relationship Value

Cococel is building a multi-year platform across 12 countries. This will not be a one-off — it will be a compounding relationship that grows with each market launched.

COMPLIANCE & RISK

Built for Regulatory Scrutiny

We understand FFB's enhanced compliance framework. Our structure is designed to exceed your requirements.

UniTeller Regulatory Umbrella

All remittance operations are conducted under UniTeller's Money Transmitter Licenses in all 50 states. Cococel is not the MSB — UniTeller is.

Pre-Funded Model

Cococel pre-funds all remittance disbursements. There is zero settlement risk to FFB — funds are in the account before any payout occurs.

BSA/AML Program

Full KYC/KYB verification, transaction monitoring, OFAC screening, and SAR filing procedures — all managed through UniTeller's compliance infrastructure.

9-Year Clean Record

CubaTel operated for 9 years processing transactions to Cuba (the most scrutinized corridor) with zero compliance violations, zero fraud losses, and zero regulatory actions.

Goat Payments Partnership

Goat Payments serves as the merchant processor and conducts their own due diligence, adding an additional compliance layer between Cococel and FFB.

NEXT STEPS

Let's Build This Together

We're ready to move forward with documentation, compliance review, and account setup at FFB's pace.

Proposed Next Steps

1

Open business checking account for operational deposits

2

Begin process to create the relationship for remittances processing
